Thought for the day August 14 2016
Yesterday, I suggested that your luck was about to change. Usually if you want to get lucky, you have to gamble. The definition of the word 'lucky' is to triumph against uninspiring odds and, on the face of it, there are always plenty of those about! It doesn't take long to find someone to tell you that you're dreaming and that what you want to happen can't possibly come to pass. Not all dreams are realistic. But this weekend, with the help of a kindly cosmos, you can really start to shorten those odds.

Is it naive to trust that generosity will be rewarded? Is it too much to expect that the contributions we make will be appreciated? You have been putting your heart into a matter that means much to you. It has taken effort, much of which has been behind the scenes, unseen and unappreciated. This is not the time to give up. But you can take your foot off the accelerator and have a rest this weekend. Your endeavours have not only been noticed, they have moved a difficult situation on to a better place.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some people don't learn from their mistakes. Not you. You take pride in your ability to work out what's gone wrong and how to make sure that you never repeat the error. But it can sometimes take you a while before you can admit a mistake has been made! You won't allow yourself to stop and learn from it, until you're totally sure there's something to learn. Yet as your ruler Saturn turns direct this weekend, it's clear that your efforts to understand and overcome a problem can begin to bear fruit.

Sometimes it feels as if we're wearing ill-fitting clothes... as if our jeans are a size too small. We feel constrained, and that the activities we can take part in are limited. The last thing you need to hear is something ripping as you reach for the cereal box on the top shelf at the supermarket! This weekend, you're scheduled for some cosmic cosmetic surgery. You've been on the waiting list for a while, now your patience is rewarded. A burden is being lifted. A renewed sense of purpose is heading your way.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Think of some of the tastes and flavours that you gradually learned to like. At some point, you stopped screwing up your nose in disgust, gave a dish a cautious nibble and said, 'Actually, I like it.' Then it earned a real place in your heart. Acquired tastes are always more rewarding. This weekend Saturn turns direct just as it forms a T-square with Neptune opposing Venus. It suggests you're about to develop an appreciation for a situation that has been challenging. It could change more than you think.

For Librans, parity is critical. We like to feel our place in the universe is justified, natural and fair and that when we enjoy the fruits of our labour, we can justify any luxury... safe in the knowledge that all who have contributed to the success have also been rewarded. For some time you have wanted to address an imbalance, but have lacked the power to do so. This weekend, you can project an image of authority. You're strong enough to call for the vital redress, and committed enough to ensure that it happens.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What is it that's made you feel uneasy recently? We all recognise the funny feeling that comes when something isn't right. Sometimes we know what lies at the root of it, but our circumstances are such that we're unable to do anything about it. We have to soldier on regardless. This time though, it's worth taking the time to get to the bottom of it. There's a chance, this weekend, to make a simple adjustment. It will underpin your foundations and allow you to move forward with a sense of much-needed ease.

Even healthy eaters can succumb, in moments of great hunger, to the lure of junk food. Under the pressure of a strong appetite, even bland food can taste great. So great, indeed, that after we have eaten it, we are left with a distorted memory. We didn't really like what we ate; we liked how it made us feel! But we want that same feeling so we repeat the steps we took to it. But this weekend, what you need is really not more of something old. As Saturn turns direct, you can start to move on to something new.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When we get stuck, we get cross. When progress is halted we look for something, or someone to blame. 'I told you not to take this route,' we may say from the moral high ground of the passenger seat. 'This GPS is supposed to avoid traffic!' we may exclaim incredulously at rush hour. These emotional reactions are mere vents for frustration, and make no impression on solving the difficulties of the situation. This weekend, change how you think about a problem. Then your contribution can be part of a solution

Imagine a car with only two gears: first and fourth. You can either hurtle or trundle. No middle ground. It's not an easy way to get around. When offered these options we're tempted to forget about the speedy mode for fear of speeding out of control. Jonathan's words guide me to ask if you have been feeling uncomfortable about how the 'engine' of a relationship runs? Do the drawbacks outweigh the benefits? This weekend there's a way to start developing a deeper, more constructive understanding
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The simplified version of your forecast suggests that you enable your friends' dreams by giving them your long-awaited inheritance! But, of course, that's not what the cosmos really wants. There's choice involved. We're all free to do as we wish, as long as we're aware of the results our actions might bring about. This weekend, don't focus on the literal meaning of any over-simplified advice coming your way. But being benevolent for the right reasons brings great reward and a welcome sense of abundance.
